Details

Regardless which time of the year you travel to East Africa, doing a Combo Kenya and Tanzania safari tour will be a very rewarding safari. Our 12 days package takes you to the finest safari destinations these great safari countries have to offer. We start with a drive north to the Aberdares Mountains National Park where you spend the night at one of the magnificent tree hotels, ie The Treetops Hotel or The Ark. From here we head to Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley for a chance to spot the Rare White rhinos, Rothschild Giraffes, and the colorful flamingos among other animals. From here you head to Masai Mara for two nights then cross over to Tanzania via Isebania border. In Tanzania you will explore the Serengeti plains, Ngorongoro Crater, lake Manyara National Park and ending at Arusha. From Arusha depending on your preference and schedule you can take a shuttle bus back Nairobi or transferred to Kilimanjaro for your flight back to Nairobi or back home.

Day by day

Day 1
Arrival Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi
On your arrival, you will be met at the airport by our representative and transferred to your hotel in the city centre. You will be provided with a short pre-safari briefing. Overnight at the Panafric Hotel. You will be booked on Bed and Breakfast.
Day 2
Aberdares Mountains National park
Breakfast early in the morning then we set off for Aberdares National Park. On arrival at Nyeri we will check-in at the base hotel; Out Span Hotel for a sumptuous lunch then you will take the lodge’ 4x4 safari vehicle and head to Treetops Hotel inside the Park. Treetops Hotel is one of the few ‘a tree hotels’ in Africa and the first one to be built. The lodge played host to famous people in the world including the queen of England. Overnight will be at Treetops Hotel.
Day 3
Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast at Aberdares, we drive in to the Rift Valley via Nyahururu and arrive by mid-morning at Lake Nakuru National Park. We arrive for lunch at the lodge and continue with game drives for the rest of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Lion Hill Lodge inside the park. All meals are included.
Day 4
Masai Mara
Leave at around 8.00 am after breakfast with a lunch box and drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving by mid-morning around 11.00 Am. If you wish we can have a stop at Mai Mahiu hot water springs. The afternoon will be spent doing game drives in this famous game reserve, searching for the big game and the predators. Masai Mara is very famous for the wildebeests' migration and the Big Cats like lions, leopards and cheetahs. Overnight will be at Masai Mara Serena Lodge. All meals included.
Day 5
Full Day Masai Mara
On this day you can do an early morning game drive, waking up at dawn and heading to the plains before coming back to the lodge for Breakfast. After breakfast we will go out again for game drives. The Masai Village visit and bush walks are some of the activities that you can do in Masai Mara. Dinner and overnight at Masai Mara Serena Safari Lodge. All meals included.
Day 6
Lake Victoria, Tanzania
Your Tanzania and Kenya Safari continue and this day we take early breakfast and proceed to the Isebania / Sirare border where we will obtain visas for Tanzania. We spend some few minutes obtaining the visas with the help of your guide then switch vehicles and head to Lake Vitoria on the Tanzanian side. The rest of the day will be spent at the shores of the Lake at the Speke Bay Lodge. All meals included. You can also opt for an Island retreat called Lukuba Island Lodge in Lake Vitoria; the largest freshwater lake.
Day 7
Serengeti National Park
In the morning there is an option of going for a traditional fishing excursion with the locals ( at extra cost), then after breakfast we drive to Serengeti National Park entering through the Ndabaka Gate. We will spend the rest of the day traversing through the western corridor and ending up at Central Serengeti where you will have picnic lunch at the visitor’s center. The afternoon will be spent doing game drives on our way to Serengeti Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 8
Serengeti National Park Full day
On this day you can also go for a sunrise game drive if you wish. After breakfast, you have an option to go for a full day of game drives with a lunch box or go back to the lodge/camp for lunch and some afternoon rest until time for sunset game drives. If you missed on the Great Migration herds at Masai Mara, they will be in Serengeti National Park which makes our Tanzania and Kenya Safari package a unique package. Later in the afternoon, we drive back to the lodge for dinner. Overnight is at Serengeti Sopa Lodge. All meals included.
Day 9
Ngorongoro
Breakfast at leisure at your lodge or tented camp then we check out and leave Serengeti National Park via Naabi Hill gate and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On your way to the Crater rim, we will visit the Olduvai Gorge where Dr Louis Leakey made the Discoveries of fossils of the early man, then pass by a Maasai Boma (village). In the afternoon you will have a chance to relax at your lodge or go for a walking safari in the forests at the Crater Rim of Ngorongoro. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. All meals included.
Day 10
Ngorongoro Crater
Wake up very early in the morning and descend (with a Breakfast box if you wish), and drive to the Crater floor for a full day of game drives inside the walls of the world’s largest unbroken caldera. In a lucky day it is possible to spot all the Big 5 as well as many large and small animals as well as bird life. Later in the afternoon we will drive to the Crater rim for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or at Plantation Lodge at Karatu nearby.
Day 11
Lake Manyara National Park
We renter the Great Rift Valley again on the Tanzanian side and this time we are going to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park is home for the legendary tree climbing lions and flamingoes. Apart from these we expect to spot a lot of buffaloes. Giraffes, baboons, monkeys, dik dik, zebras and lots of aquatic birds around the lake. Overnight at Escarpment Luxury Lodge or Kirurumu Tented Camp. All meals included.
Day 12
Arusha – Departure
Depending on your preference you can relax at your lodge in the morning or go for a morning game drive after breakfast then check out of the lodge / tented camp and drive to Arusha town where the safari ends. You can visit Curio shops on the way if interested. At Arusha, depending on your schedule you can take an afternoon shuttle bus back to Nairobi or transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Here you will take your flight back to Nairobi or Back home. End of your 12 days Kenya and Tanzania Safari. This tour can be done by staying at luxury lodges and tented camps or Mid-range options depending on your budget and preference.
